Step 2: Preparing for Your First Visit

We want you to feel as prepared and comfortable as possible when you come in for your first appointment. Here’s what you need to know and what you should bring with you:

  • Forms:
Prior to your first appointment, we will email you with a link to complete all paperwork online on a secure server. All paperwork needs to be completed prior to the intake appointment. Completing these in advance helps ensure that your first visit is focused on you, rather than paperwork.

If you are unable to complete the forms beforehand, please arrive 15-20 minutes early to fill them out in the office.
  • What to Bring:
  • A valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Your insurance card (if you plan to submit for out-of-network reimbursement)
  • Any relevant medical records, reports, or previous evaluations that may help your clinician better understand your history and concerns
  • Payment:
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Please note that we are an out-of-network provider, but we will provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Step 3: Your First Appointment

During your first visit, you will meet with one of our experienced clinicians who will spend time getting to know you and understanding your concerns. This initial intake session is designed to gather comprehensive information about your history, symptoms, and goals for treatment.

  • What to Expect in the Initial Session:
The clinician will ask about your medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and any relevant family history. They will also ask about your strengths and any previous treatments or therapies you’ve tried. For children and adolescents, parents or guardians may also be involved in this initial session to provide background information.

The goal of this appointment is to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs. You are encouraged to ask questions and share any concerns during this time.

Step 4: Treatment Plan and Next Steps

Following the intake session, your clinician will work with you to create a tailored treatment plan. This plan may include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, or psychological assessments, depending on your needs. If testing or further evaluations are recommended, your clinician will explain the process and schedule the necessary appointments.

For Parents:
If your child is the patient, the clinician will work closely with you to ensure that you feel supported and informed throughout the treatment process. We understand that navigating your child’s mental health journey can be challenging, and we are here to provide guidance every step of the way.

We’re Here to Help

If you have any questions before your first appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to support you and ensure that you have a positive experience from the moment you walk through our doors.
