General Questions

What types of services do you offer?
We offer a wide range of services, including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and psychological evaluations. Our clinicians specialize in treating children, adolescents, and young adults, focusing on issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, behavioral problems, and more. We also provide comprehensive psychological, educational, and neuropsychological assessments.  Click for more information on Therapy Services or Testing Services.

How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please call the office that is most convenient for you. Our office staff will assist you in finding a suitable time and clinician.

Do you offer telehealth services?
Yes.  Please contact us for more information or to schedule an appointment.

What should I expect during the first appointment?
Your first appointment will be an intake session where your clinician gathers detailed information about your history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. This is an opportunity to develop a tailored treatment plan that addresses your unique needs. For children and adolescents, parents or guardians may be involved in providing additional information. Click to read more on the new patient information page.

How long are therapy sessions?
Most therapy sessions are 45-50 minutes long. Some evaluations or more complex appointments may require additional time, and your clinician will inform you if a longer session is needed.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Will my information be kept confidential?
Yes, your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Information shared during therapy is confidential and will not be disclosed without your written consent, except in specific cases required by law (e.g., imminent risk of harm, abuse reporting, or court orders). For more details, please visit our Confidentiality page.

Can I access my medical records?
Yes, you have the right to request a copy of your records. If you wish to obtain your records or have them shared with another healthcare provider, please contact our office. We may require a written request and identity verification before releasing any information.

Insurance and Payment

Do you accept insurance?
Silber Psychological Services is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance companies directly. However, we will provide you with a detailed invoice (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance company to understand your out-of-network benefits. Please visit our Insurance and Billing page for more information.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Payment is required at the time of service. For more details, please visit our Insurance and Billing page.

How do I know if my insurance will reimburse me?
To determine if your insurance plan will reimburse you for out-of-network services, we recommend contacting your insurance provider. Ask them about your out-of-network mental health benefits, any deductible requirements, and the percentage of the session fee that will be reimbursed.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a cancellation fee. To reschedule or cancel an appointment, please call your preferred office directly.

Some clients may see significant improvement within a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. Your clinician will work with you to set goals and assess progress throughout the treatment process.

Do you offer family therapy?

Yes, we provide family therapy to help improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships. Family therapy can be particularly helpful when addressing behavioral issues, parenting challenges, and family dynamics.

What kinds of psychological evaluations do you offer?
