Miriam McCaa Tighe, Ph.D.

Dr. Tighe is a seasoned psychologist with over 25 years of experience in individual and family therapy. She has worked for Silber Psychological Services for the past 3 years. Based in Asheville, Dr. Tighe provides teletherapy services to older children, teens and adults struggling with anxiety and stress, depression, ADHD-related problems, social struggles and communication difficulties, strained relationships between adult children and their parents, grief and loss, and parenting problems. Dr. Tighe emphasizes evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness strategies, and behavioral approaches that are carefully tailored to the individual within a nonjudgmental, collaborative working relationship.

Miriam McCaa Tighe, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Oklahoma State University in 1997 and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After finishing her training in 1998, Dr. Tighe began working at Silber Psychological Services to provide testing and therapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. After five years with Silber, Dr. Tighe relocated out of state and continued to work as a psychologist in various settings.

In June 2022, Dr. Tighe moved to Asheville and rejoined the Silber team to provide teletherapy services for older children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is licensed in North Carolina and Louisiana, and she holds an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) which allows her to provide teletherapy across state lines in participating states. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association, North Carolina Psychological Association, and Western North Carolina Psychological Association.
