Adelina Jeffs, Psy.D.
Adelina Jeffs, Psy.D., is a newly licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. She will join Silber Psychological Services in September 2025. A North Carolina native, Dr. Jeffs earned her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology in Dayton, Ohio with an emphasis in child psychology.
Bio:
Dr. Jeffs completed her APA-accredited internship at Jackson Health System/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she provided therapy and psychological assessment to children and adolescents in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She remained at Jackson for a postdoctoral fellowship with an emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), working in a comprehensive outpatient DBT program and a DBT-informed inpatient milieu. There, she delivered individual, family, and group therapy, as well as parent and milieu coaching, for high-risk youth with emotion dysregulation, complex trauma, and suicidal or self-injurious behavior. Her work is grounded in providing compassionate, structured care to adolescents facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. Dr. Jeffs also has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological testing with children and adolescents. She is trained in conducting cognitive, academic, neurodevelopmental, and personality assessments to aid in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning. She has a particular interest in assessing ADHD, learning disorders, and complex mood or trauma-related presentations.
Dr. Jeffs has trained in a wide range of clinical environments including community mental health centers, private practices, child advocacy centers, and academic medical settings. Her therapeutic approach is primarily grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma-focused care, while also integrating other evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). She values radical genuineness, authenticity, and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship, and is passionate about empowering children and adolescents to build meaningful lives, succeed in their goals, and envision bright, hopeful futures.
