David Filipowski, Ph.D.

David Filipowski, Ph.D., is an adolescent psychologist who received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Syracuse University.  After completing his internship at the Hutchings Psychiatric Center, Dr. Filipowski joined Silber Psychological Services in 1988.  He provides therapy for teenagers and college-aged young adults, often working with those who are struggling with anxiety and depression as well as those who are having minor difficulties with the law.  In addition, Dr. Filipowski enjoys testing gifted students, and therapy with eating disorders and young people who are struggling with interpersonal issues.  Dr. Filipowski has also been very active in organized psychology, being a Past-President of the North Carolina Psychological Association (NCPA) and a past state representative of the governing Council of the American Psychological Association.  He has served on the Wake County Human Services and Environmental Services Board, where he chaired the Continuum of Care Committee which focused on the mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability needs in Wake County.
