David Filipowski, Ph.D.
David Filipowski, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Syracuse University. After completing his internship at the Hutchings Psychiatric Center, Dr. Filipowski joined Silber Psychological Services in 1988. He works primarily with teenagers and college-aged young adults, often working with those who are struggling with anxiety and depression as well as those who are having minor difficulties with the law. In addition, Dr. Filipowski enjoys working with gifted students, those with eating disorders, and young people who are struggling with interpersonal issues. He has a strong interest in psychological testing, using it to help families develop a better understanding of the academic and emotional needs of their youngsters. Dr. Filipowski has also been very active in organized psychology, being a past President of the North Carolina psychological Association (NCPA) and a past state representative of the governing Council of the American Psychological Association. He was appointed by the Wake County Board of Commissions to serve on the Human Services and Environmental Services Board from 2003 to 2011, where he participated as a member and chair of the Continuum of Care Committee which focuses on the mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability needs in Wake County.
