Maya J. Hardrick, Ph.D.
Maya provides psychological assessments to children, adolescents, and young adults, and she has special interests in learning disorders, giftedness, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). She also enjoys group therapy modalities, parent coaching for parents of children with ADHD, helping adolescents transition to college, and working with anxiety and mood-related concerns.
Bio:
Maya Hardrick, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral clinician/fellow who works with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. She was born and raised in Savannah, GA. After graduating with her B.A. in Medicine, Health, and Society from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Hardrick earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship through Florida State University at the FSU Multidisciplinary Center in Tallahassee, FL where she focused on providing clinic- and school-based assessments, as well as group therapy, in both school and outpatient settings.
Dr. Hardrick has experience working with a broad age range, from toddlers to young adults. She has completed training experiences in various settings, including Wake County Schools, the Duke Child and Family Study Center, UNC Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Center, a therapeutic day school, and a neuropsychological clinic. She joins Silber Psychological Services in October 2025.
Maya is passionate about cultivating a warm, accepting, and collaborative environment for her patients. She is experienced in a wide range of assessments addressing academic difficulties, giftedness, ADHD, and ASD. In therapy, she utilizes evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness strategies, in her work. In particular, she enjoys helping adolescents transition to college, doing group therapy with school-age children, parent coaching for parents of children with ADHD, and working with anxiety and mood related concerns.
